In the summer of 2010 children’s role-play conversations in the pre-school rooms tended to include a crocodile as the ultimate ‘baddie’. Our Atelierista (artist working with children) brought in a taxidermy crocodile skull for the children to investigate. Their experiences included observational drawing, role-play making crocodiles out of clay, mixing paints to make the ideal colour to paint their crocodiles, storytelling, moving like crocodiles, investigating crocodile anatomy, and making homes and dens for their crocodile friends to create a ‘crocodile city’.

Their experiences were documented in this project workbook entitled, Crocodile!
